Be-healthy.net is a website that has a bunch of different medical topics on it. This website has articles written by Joe Miller who writes informative medical articles and online advertisements. This tells me that the source is slightly jaded in that it will be loaded with advertisements.

This short article on sinus infections is informative with regard to the symptoms of a sinus infection. It informs the reader what symptoms are associated with a sinus infection and what to do for them. It has a multitude of different links associated with sinus infections unfortunately all of the links are links to different products.

I would rate this website as interesting but lacking in information. It is only a one page article whereas sinus infections are much broader than that. Not to mention that the only treatment that is noted in the article is nasal sprays and they have to be purchased. From my own experience with sinus infections I know that there are a multitude of home remedies to prevent a sinus infection.

The article that I read regarding sinus infections was well written and very informative, especially for people not in the medical field. It lists symptoms, causes, diagnosis, treatment, and preventative techniques. I found it to be very informative even for a person who has been diagnosed as having chronic sinusitis. Despite my extended personal experience with this problem I was still able to learn a few things.

This article tells us, in addition to the symptoms, causes, diagnosis, treatment, and preventative techniques, about research with regard to this subject.

This website has other articles related to this topic and even one on when to call a doctor. I would rate this website as an excellent source of information. This site lacks the advertisement links that the other on had which to me makes it a very informative and beneficial site.

This website gives you a lot of facts and percentages about
sinus infections. There are many sections on this website, from
informational ones, to symptoms, all the way to how to solve the problems
on not getting them. As you read along, you will find out things that
you didn't know and some that you all ready knew.
In the first section, it gives you the facts, like who is more
likely to get them and the percentage on how many people do get them.
In the second and third section, it tells you what the symptoms are and
what cause sinus infections. The next section focuses on just the
infection itself and how to control it. Then, it informs you on the irritants
and the anatomic problems with the allergies. In the last few sections
it tells you how to diagnose and treat sinus infections so they go away
fast and not to painful.
So, as you see, this to is another great website and an informational
one too. So, do take a very close look to find out all the important facts.

While looking throughout this website, I found a lot of very
valuable information, that I feel will help you out. The sections on this
website are research, news, treatment, glossary, and resources, all very
important things to look into. As you read on, you will realize why this
website is such a good one.
When you look into the first section called "research," it provides
you with other websites to look at. The second tab gives you information
on new treatments and new information on ways to help yourself from getting
them. Then, it gives treatments on ways to prevent sinus infections and how
to stop them in the beginning before it gets too bad. Then, there is a section
on different kinds of sinus problems and a little bit of information on
each of them. The last section are resources so you have something to
back your facts up, which is very important to have.
So, as you can see, this is a very good website to get information
on. If you ever need to know about sinus infections, here is the place to

Emedicinehealth.com is a website full of medical information. It is a commercial website, so there are some ads to try to get you to buy things, but for the most part it is devoted to medical information. The site is the largest repository of medical information online. It is a privately held company based in Omaha, Nebraska. Ten thousand physician authors and editors contribute to the site. It covers everything under the sun, from anxiety and depression, to diabetes and high cholesterol. There are links to every health problem, all you have to do is click on the letter of the alphabet that your problem starts with and you come up with a list of everything that starts with that letter. Very cool, and very distracting when you are trying to look for just one topic and 10 others interest you!

As far as sinusitis goes, this website is very informative. It goes into a little more detail about things than sinusinfocenter.com does. The terminology used is a little more medical, but not too difficult to understand. On this website, there is a Glossary to look up difficult words, and there is also a link to get more information from different medical publications, such as the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/sinusitis.htm) and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (http://www.aaaai.org/patients/publicedmat/tips/sinusitis.stm).

Emedicinehealth.com is more "medical" in its set up; there is a lot of information on the different sinuses and how sinusitis affects each set and the symptoms and causes with each. It also contains a lot of information on the tests that ENTs can do and how they do the treatments. Sinusitis can be either acute, which is of sudden onset; or chronic, which is long term. Chronic sinusitis is the most common type. Sinusitis is caused by either a viral infection or by allergens and pollutants. This causes damage to the mucus layer that lines the sinuses, leading to inflammation. The lining thickens with fluid that obstructs nasal passage to the sinuses. Bacteria that are normally removed begin to multiply and then a sinus infection begins. Treatment is usually with an antibiotic to get rid of the infection, and a nasal decongestant to promote drainage of the sinuses.

This is a good website to use for any kind of medical questions you may have. The language is a little more "medical" and there are some ads, but the information is solid and helpful when you need questions answered.

Sinusinfocenter.com is a great website to go to for basic information about what sinusitis is, its symptoms, and its causes. This website is created and sponsored by Medtronic Xomed and contributing to it are physicians from different University hospitals around the country. It is not a commercial site, there are no ads or pop-ups involved. It is just straight sinus information. There is a short quiz that you can take (http://www.sinusinfocenter.com/sinus_self_assessment.html) to see if you have it, and the website has a search engine to help you find an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Specialist in your area. Also, you can read stories about other people who have suffered from sinusitis and how they coped and were treated by their ENTs. If you are not sure what sinusitis is or you want to see what the symptoms are before consulting your doctor, this website would be very helpful.

On Sinusinfocenter.com, there are many features that are noteworthy, my personal favorite being the "Basic Sinus Anatomy" anamation (http://www.sinusinfocenter.com/sinus_anatomy.html). This is a short "movie" on where the sinuses are in the cranium. This section highlights the different sinuses and as they are pointed out on the computer-generated lady, you can read about them in the scroll box to the right of the picture. For someone who is not sure if their headaches or pain in their faces are related to their sinuses, or if they do not even know where their sinuses are, this section of the website would be extremely helpful.

Another section I really like is the Glossary. This section allows you to look up any troubling words that are contained within the text just by clicking on the highlighted word, or you can type in your own selection and get the definition that way. I think this feature is awesome because you don't have to search the website with a dictionary by your side and you don't feel stupid because the explanation dosen't leave you with more questions than answers after you have looked at the website.

This website is great if you want quick access to sinus information. There is no searching the site because it is devoted to sinuses only (hence the title!). It is very straightforward, the doctors who contribute keep the layperson in mind when writing the articles, or at least the editors do. This is a nice, simple, informative site.

Hi there everyone!
My name is Wendy. I am in a certificate program here at BCC. I am studying to get my certificate in medical billing. I have a bachelor's degree already but due to an unfortunate accident I am no longer able to work in the field that I received my bachelor's degree in. I am the mother of a 9 month old baby boy. He is the love of my life. I am interested in this topic because I have had a lot of personal experience with it. I would like to know what causes sinus infections and how can they be prevented.
